Feeling prepared!

Scott’s instruction for the Stop the Bleed class I took was clear and concise, with lots of helpful examples and hands-on practice. I especially appreciated the practical approach and emphasis on the core, essential concepts (“pressure!”). I’ll be back for more classes!

Learned a lot from this class. I had no previous formal First Aid or CPR classes and was a little worried that I wouldn’t be able to understand the terms or techniques being used but Scott was very conversational, practical and jnformative. I would highly recommend this class for anyone of any skill level.

Great instructor

Wasn’t expecting as in depth of a class, but the instructor Scott Mize was great. In addition to covering the important material, he answered all questions very well, and helped show better techniques for applications of equipment (whether supplementary or intended directly) to combat bleeding and stabilize the wounded in the field. Also showed and explained some subtle things one can do that can act as a force ratio multiplier for pressure against bleeding, that simultaneously relieves the amount of pressure you personally have to exert.

Acquiring the knowledge

As a responsible gun owner, I realized when I took this class if there was some fundamentals that I was missing and didn’t understand when I’m at the range, and I go out shooting, or I couldn’t figure out like, sometimes why I would jam. Or just the safety of just carrying the gun itself. This class has given me a high reassurance of knowing how to be safe with the firearm and protecting my family. The instructor was very intentional and knowledgeable and is a great asset to helping you be safe.

Straight forward, answers questions, easy to understand, runs through things multiple times as needed, practiced on dummy limbs, voluntarily allowed tourniquet practice on self, very good.

Just what I was expecting, good information, good instructor. The location and time could have been better. The Sportsman’s Warehouse where the class was held wasn’t open until 10am, the same time the class was to start. I would have preferred to NOT have the class run through lunch time…; Overall I’m glad I took the course.

I expected informative and competent but Scott was much more than that. His humor and authenticity kept the class engaging and gave the content relevance to everyday life. He used his years of experience to provide examples and guidance for possible situations that we will encounter; allowing us to learn from his choices before we have to make them ourselves. Scott is very thorough and knowledgeable. From our first class with the CHL I learned more in that class than I did the first time I got my CHL. I only went to get my Utah certification since I already had my Oregon one but left with more information than I thought I would. Due to this we decided to take his other class stop the bleed which we would highly recommend. We are going to do more classes to follow, he is very easy to learn from and the classes go by fast. thank you for sharing life changing learning experiences.
